Bleuenn Le Friec, harp
(Brittany, France, 1984)
Bleuenn started playing the Celtic harp at age 6. In 2003 she graduated in musicology and started studying the classical harp. In 2004 she joined Musikene (San Sebastian) to study with F. Cambreling. She completed her training in the Hochschule für Musik Detmold and Frankfurt with G. Schrama and F. Friederich.
Member of the Spanish National Youth Orchestra, the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the Verbier Festival Orchestra, Bleuenn was also selected for the Lucerne Festival Academy with which she went on tour in the USA and in Japan. In 2009 she was given the opportunity to play P.Boulez`s Répons under the direction of the composer.
She was principal harp in the Neubrandenburger Philarmonie from 2011 to 2013. She presently combines her activities as harp teacher in the Escuela Municipal de Música de Santiago de Compostela with frequent collaborations with European orchestras (Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Real Filharmonia de Galicia, Gran Teatro del Liceu de Barcelona, Frankfurt Oper) and various New Music Ensembles (Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Interface).
