Irene Alfageme, piano

Irene studied in Salamanca, London and Geneva. She has given recitals as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe, Canada and Japan, performing, among other venues, in the Festival d`Aix-en-Provence, Palau de la Música (Barcelona), St. Martin in the Fields or Sala Barceló of United Nations in Geneva. She has been broadcasted by Radio Clásica, Radio Nacional de España and Catalunya Música.
Irene performed as a soloist with Amersham Festival Orchestra, Orquesta Andrés Segovia and Orquesta Sinfónica de León and was awarded several international prizes, in such competitions as the Concurso Ciudad de San Sebastián, Certamen Pedro Bote in addition to winning the the Janet Duff Greet Prize for Piano Recital.
She is specialized in vocal accompaniment and participated in opera productions as repetiteur and continuo with such singers as Felicity Lott, Magdalena Kozena, Ian Bostridge or Ainhoa Arteta and such conductors as Jesús López Cobos, Lionel Bringuier or Vasily Petrenko.
She regularly collaborates with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León. Since 2012 Irene is Professor at the Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid.
