José Andrés Reyes
José Andrés Reyes, double bass
(Barquisimeto, Venezuela, 1986)
José Andrés began his studies in 1999 with Juan Carlos Rodr¡guez in the Conservatorio de Música V. E. Sojo in Barquisimeto, Venezuela and in 2002 entered the Conservatorio Simón Bolivar where he worked with Professor Néstor Blanco. From 2004 to 2007 he studied in the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía with Professors Toni Garcia Araque and Rainer Zepperitz.
Member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester from 2007 to 2010, has played under such conductors as M.W. Chung, H. Blomstedt, I. Metzmacher, Sir Colin Davis, A. Pappano, J. Nott, F. Welser Möst and D. Afkham.
In 2011 he was academist of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. From 2007 to 2012 he studied with Professor Axel Scherka in the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin and since April 2012 he has been studying for an M.A. with Professor Esko Laine in the same university.
He collaborates with such orchestras as: Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Konzerthaus Orchester Berlin, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and SWR Orchester Freiburg.
He is playing with the Danish National Radio Orchestra in Copenhagen during their current season (2014-2015).
