Currently section leader of the second violins in the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Luis was previously member of the Berliner Philharmoniker akademie.
A passionate chamber music performer, he took part in the Ravinia Festival, and played with members of the Cleveland String Quartet, Takacs Quartet, American String Quartet, Peabody Trioand with the violinist Christian Tetzlaff.
He performed as a soloist with such orchestras as the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, National Arts Center of Canada, Baden-Badener Philharmonie, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Orquesta Sinfónica de Euskadi and Orquesta de Radio Televisión Española.
He also performed in halls like Carnegie Hall Weill Hall, Yale University, Teatro Nacional de Panamá, Palau de la Música (Barcelona) and in Madrid, in the Teatro Real and the Auditorio Nacional de España.
At age 14, so far the youngest ever laureate of this competition, Luis Esnaloa won the third prize of the Pablo Sarasate International Competition together with the audience award.
