Miriam Pastor, oboe
(Cartagena, Spain, 1987)
From 2003 to 2007, Miriam studied oboe with José Francisco Valero at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Murcia where she graduated with honours. She then moved to Berlin to complete her studies in the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler with Professor Dominik Wollenweber. In 2008 she entered the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philarmonic. In the 2010-2011 season she was principal English horn of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and during the 2011-2012 season principal oboe of the Komische Oper Berlin. She was a member of the JONDE (Joven Orquesta Nacional de España), the EUYO and the GMJO.
She collaborated with numerous orchestras such as the Orquesta de Radio Televisión Española, Orquesta de Cadaqués, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Orquesta Sinfónica de Murcia, Orquesta de la Comunidad Valenciana, Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin and Hessischer Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt.
From 2009 to 2014 she was a member of the Orchestra Mozart, directed by Claudio Abbado.
Since 2012, she has been principal English horn in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (Amsterdam), directed by Mariss Jansons.
