Oleguer BeltrAn, violIn

Oleguer completed his musical studies in the Universität der Künste Berlin with Axel Gerhardt. As a student he was taught by such violinists as E. Tieles, E. Graubin, D Ballesteros, E. Gratch, I. Oistrakh, A. León Ara, R. Sonne, V. Beths, R. Kussmaul, C. Altenburger, F. Eichhorn or I. Bieler, among others.
He has achieved an intense activity of chamber music rich in concerts, recordings and prizes. In addition to his training with the Casals and Artemis quartets, it is worth underlining his work with the the Noga Quartett and participation to the Músics en Residència Festival in Alella (2001, 2012) and the Da Camera Orchestra.
His desire to pursue the profession of orchestra musician developed from his membership in various youth orchestras (JONC, JONDE, EUYO, and GMJO) and further inhanced by his collaboration with the major Spanish professional orchestras.
In 2009 he was appointed leader of the second violins in the Gulbenkian Orchestra (Lisbon) and currently he is the assistant leader of the second violins in the Dortmunder Philarmoniker.
