Raúl Mirás, CELLO
(A Coruña, Spain, 1987)
Raúl began to play cello with Ilia Keilin and is graduated from Musikene with teachers Asier Polo and Maria Casado. He continued studying in the Musik-Akademie Basel with Thomas Demenga and in the Hochschule für Musik Rostock with Julian Steckel.
He has appeared as a soloist with the Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de Asturias, Orquesta Sinfónica de Musikene, Orquesta Gaos or NDR Sinfonieorchester Rostock, and performed in, among others, the Zermatt Festival, Akademie Rutesheim, Festival Euroclassics Pirmasens, Festival Turina or Gustav Mahler Academy.
He carries out an intense activity as a chamber musician. He has worked with A. Mercero, S. Azzolini, W. Levin and R. Schmidt, and studied string quartet with Natalia Prishepenko in the Universität der Künste Berlin.
Member of the Orquesta Joven de la Sinfónica de Galicia, the JONDE and the GMJO, Raúl was also academist of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin. He usually collaborates with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Staatskapelle Dresden, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Orquesta de la Comunitat Valenciana or Sinfónica de Galicia, playing under the direction of D. Afkham, D. Gatti, V. Jarousski, C. Davis, H. Blomstedt or M. Janowski.
Since 2015, he is Professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón, Zaragoza.
